Part 1. SAFETY Warning, Information and Disclaimer

•The Batsub TooL contains small parts which may pose a swallowing and choking hazard for small children and pets.
Before using, make certain to read all instructions for the Batsub TooL and the Universal Power Adapter (made by an independent company).
•Never let the metallic tips (magnet or clips), from the positive (red) wire and the negative (black) wire, touch together because it may cause a spark or short circuiting.
•The Batsub TooL should be disconnected from the U.P.A. when not in use. (Devices run endlessly until the user disconnects the Batsub TooL.)
Do not use the Batsub in medical or expensive devices, or highly sensitive equipment, or conditions with high moisture.
•Do not use the Batsub in a manner for which it was not designed, beyond the scope of its intended use, or in situations which may have great adverse consequences as a result of error.
•Failure to understand and carefully follow instructions may result in serious injury or property damage.
•User shall ASSUME ALL RISKS that may be result from using the Batsub.

Part 2. Preparatory Instructions

1. Remove all existing batteries from the battery compartment.
2. When the battery compartment normally holds more than one battery, the first step is to locate the key input contacts
for the positive and negative feeders.  The two key contacts are usually at the opposite corners of the battery
compartment, or at the front and tail end of a series of batteries.  The negative contact is almost always a metal spring,
while the positive contact would be the piece that is not a spring. See batsub.com (Tech Page) to find an illustration.

Part 3. Installation Instructions

FOR EACH STEP BELOW, SEE  INSTRUCTIONAL IMAGES (on back side and also enlargeable at www.batsub.com)

STEP 1:  Insert the Magnet-Jack into the battery compartment (see IMAGE 1). The magnetic tip must make contact with the key positive input piece (metallic). Depending on the design of the battery compartment, if the Magnet-Jack sticks firmly by itself to the positive input contact, you may skip Step 2 (although adding Spacers is still recommended).
TIP: The removable magnet can be pulled out (gently with pliers) and fitted into smaller spaces (and rewired if needed).
STEP 2:  Add the appropriate Spacers (see IMAGE 2a, 2b, 2c). The purpose of adding the Spacers is to firmly brace the Magnet-Jack into the battery compartment slot. The Core Spacers (about 1 cm wide) are used to extend the length of the Magnet-Jack. Spacers matching the diameter of battery sizes C and D are identified with “C” and “D” on them. Both battery sizes AA and AAA may simply use the Core Spacers for bracing. Proceed to add enough of the Core Spacers so that the TooL may be braced firmly into the slot.  TIP: When fitting the length of the slot, you can try varying the distance between each Spacer, by screwing in each Spacer at 1/2 to 3/4 way; Adjust until the total length allows the TooL to fit snugly into the slot (see IMAGE 2c).
STEP 3:  Connect the Black Clip to the key Spring (see IMAGE 3).
STEP 4:  Connect the Red Clip to the Red Blade Connector (see IMAGE 4). Push in the soft cover so that no metal is exposed.
STEP 5:  Check the Polarity direction on the U.P.A. (see IMAGE 5).  Also, use the blue tip, sized 5.5mm x 2.1mm.
See separate instructions for the U.P.A.
STEP 6:  Select the correct Voltage (see IMAGE 6). TIP: Each battery (D, C, AA, AAA) has 1.5 volt. So, for example, if the device needs 2 AA batteries, you will need to select 3 volts. [Note: The Batsub TooL handles about 1000mA (1Amp) electrical current.]

STEP 7:  Connect the Female DC-Plug of the Clip-Wire to its matching Male DC-Plug from the U.P.A. (see IMAGE 7).
STEP 8:  Plug the U.P.A. into an AC/wall power outlet (see IMAGE 8). Disconnect when not using.
                                                                                                                                                                               [IS20150205]

The magnet can be removed from its shell, allowing for use in small battery compartments, such as battery size AAAA and others, and for use inside unusual configurations. Simply pull out the magnet, and push it back in to restore.
